Anointing of the Holy Spirit

Acts 2:1-2 "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind,
and it filled all the house where they were sitting."
In the above passage we see the Holy Spirit was poured out on the day of Pentecost. Since then the Lord has been preparing the bride-church to meet the groom. When we read
Leviticus 23:15-22, we can understand that the'day of Pentecost' refer to Fifty. Pentecost is the fiftieth day from the day of resurrection of Jesus Christ. In Acts Chapter
two, we can see a lot of changes in the church ever since the Holy Spirit was poured out. The Spirit of the Lord brought blessings through his anoiting. The Church recieves
the blessings from the Spirit of the Lord. When we receive the Holy Spirit, our entire family will be blessed through our anointing. The Lord his children and his church to
get prepared for his coming of Jesus Christ.
Acts 2:4 'And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.'
In the above passage, we read they were anointed by the Holy Spirit and spoke with other tongues. The sign of getting anointed is having the gift of speaking in tongues.
The Holy spirit will give us the gifts of spirit to prepare us for the Lord. We read in I Corinthians 12:7 'But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit
withal.' Our Lord will give us gifts to make us a better person. The gifts from the Lord will bring in behaviourial changes. When we are anointed, the gifts of the Lord will
be given to us to supply all our needs. In I Corinthians 12:7-10 details us on the different kind of gifts we receive from the Lord. The Lord gives us gifts to create and
build a spiritual generation. Our Lord does not want his children to be like normal people. We the children of God should pray to receive the gifts of the Lord.
Apostolic Teaching
Acts 2:42 'And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.'
This verse is more or less like a treasure in this chapter. We read that they continued stedfastly in the apostolic doctrines. These doctrines are foundational doctrines
taught by Jesus to the apostles who were with him who then taught the early church apostles. We read in Matthew 28:20 'Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I
have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.' Our Lord Jesus acknowledges and requests all these things to his disciples and commands
them to broadcast it to the people. These doctrines were later presented together as the New Testament. We read in I John 1:1 'That which was from the beginning, which we
have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;' This verse is like a testimonial from his disciples
which was given to his people. Further we read in John 14:26 'But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.' The Holy Spirit will remind all things that Jesus had said. When we meet Jesus we must be strong in
the foundations of his doctrines.
Acts 2:42 'And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.'
In the above passage, we can see they continued in good fellowship. Today, the lot has kept us as representatives of the Lord in this world to spread the gospel. The Lord's
intention for the erly church was fellowship, he brings it to fruition. We can read about the fellowship of the early church in Acts 2:44-46. These idealogies were present
inside the Lord has been later implemented in the church. In Hebrews 12:14 'Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord' We the children
of the Lord must pursue peace with all men. The Greek word for Follow is dioko which means to pursue or chase or to seek after or follow closely. Let us maintain peaceful
fellowship with all men to reflect the nature of the Lord.
Breaking of bread
Acts 2:42 'And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.'
Here we see they continued stedfastly in breaking of bread. This is very important for each and everyone of us. This is the command from the Lord to follow the breaking of bread.
Just as we have fellowship with men, we need a fellowship with God. There are two kinds of fellowship, vertical and horizontal fellowships. Vertical fellowship is the one we
have with the Lord and Horizontal fellowship is the one we have with the people in this world. These both should go hand in hand. We read in I Corinthians 11:31-32 'For if we would
judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.' When we judge ourselves, we will not be
judged. The Lord chastens us continually and leads us. We read in Proverbs 11:31 'Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.' We might
be given into circumstances, but the hands of the Lord will lead us. May we unite in the fellowship of the Lord.
Acts 2:42 'And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.'
Finally, we read about the prayer in the early church. Prayer was given much importance in the church. We read in Acts 4:30-31 'By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and
wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and
they spake the word of God with boldness.' The prayer shook the entire place where they were gathered together. We the children of the Lord should prioritize prayer. The Spirit of the Lord
will urge us to pray during any course of the day. We see the apostles knew the importance of prayer. Therefore, let us all pray and prepare to meet the bridegroom. May the Lord almighty
continue to bless us with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
