Expansion of Borders

 Expansion of Borders

Psalm 147:14 'He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.'

Our Lord is the Lord who gives an abundant blessing in our borders. The Lord gives peace in our borders. All our borders in our lives will be blessed by the Lord God.
The Lord will not only bless our borders but also will expand our borders. Our Lord wants the borders of his children to be expanded. We will receive an expansion greater
than our expectation. They will expand according to the plan of the Lord. The Lord will remove all the barriers in our way. As part of today's meditation, we will meditate
what happens during the expansion of our borders and how the Lord will help us to inherit them.

Mountain region expansion

Joshua 17:15,17-18'And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the
Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee. And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying,
Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only: But the mountain shall be thine; '

Here we see Joshua brings the people to Israel after the battles. We read the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh they are questioning Joshua. They said
they require a larger place to stay and wanted their borders to be expanded. Joshua says the mountain region will belong to them. The blessings of mountain regions is
something which can never be inherited. Our Lord is a Lord who helps us to inherit unattainable blessings. As per the promise verse, Habakkuk 3:19 'The LORD God is my
strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.' The Lord will give this blessing of high places to his children.
The children of the Lord encountered hindrances in that place, as they faced giants (Joshua 12:4) and chariots of iron (Joshua 17:16). The Canaanites had iron chariots
and inherited that place already. Joshua stood as an example of how a perfect leader should motivate the people. He said 'Thou art a great people, and hast great power'.
He assured that the Lord is with them. We read this in Jeremiah 20:11 'But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one.' When the mighty terrible Lord is with us, we
will also become a mighty one. We read in Judges 6:12 'The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.' When the Lord is with us, we can easily inherit the blessing
of high places. The mountain region in front of us will belong to us and our borders will expand.

Inheritance by God's plan

I Samuel 30:6 'And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for
his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.'

The Lord had a great plan in the life of David. The Lord will not fulfill them overnight. When the Lord blessed Abraham to give the blessing of descendants, he took
some years to fulfill them. There will be lot of spiritual meanings hidden in the plans of the Lord. Same way, in the life of David the plans of the Lord was fulfilled
step by step. Before the fulfillment of the plan, David was greatly distressed. In I Samuel 16:13 'Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of
his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.' We read the Lord decided to bring David after
Saul. We see Samuel anointed David and he left to Ramah. David who received the anointing, waited patiently for the Lord. In the scripture, we can see David was
anointed three times. 1) I Samuel 16:13 - David was anointed by Samuel. 2) II Samuel 2:4 - David was anointed through the men of Judah. 3) II Samuel 5:3 - David was
anointed through the elders of Israel. David waited in the presence of the Lord for his will to be done. David was afflicted and it was situation where people decided
to stone him down. In the later part, the Lord commanded his expansion of the borders by making him the ruler over the nation of Israel. David overcame the family of
Saul and completely received the plan of the Lord. We the children of the Lord should surrender ourselves to the plans of the Lord to receive his blessing.

Miraculous expansion

II Kings 6:1 'And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us.'

In the above passage the sons of the prophets said to Elisha that the place they live in is small. They are making efforts for expansion. We read in II Kings 6:2 'Let
us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye.' While they were
cutting down the tree for a bigger place, the borrowed axe fell into the river. The Lord did not allow this to be an experience of backsliding but he worked out his
miracle. The sons of the prophets did not settle down in the small place but they made an effort and expected to dwell in a bigger place. They took some efforts to change
their present condition which created the difference. During the time of constriction, there will be an expansion. The Lord will give us the due rewards for the earnest
efforts we are taking in our lives. We read in II Kings 6:5 'But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master!
for it was borrowed.' It was a situation where the axe fell into the water and they were hopeless. It seemed the expansion was hindered and they did not know what to do.
But the Lord worked out a super natural miracle in that hopeless situation. Even in our lives, at times when hope is lost we need to expect miracles. Amen.
