Glory of Zion
Isaiah 54:3 'For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.'
This chapter is a chapter with a great blessing. The Bible researchers has given the title for this chapter as 'the glory of zion that is about come'. This chapter
records the glorious blessings that the Lord has in store for his chosen children. Today, we are going to mediate upon the glorious blessings in this chapter. When
we read in Isaiah 54:1 'Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the
children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.' The very first verse in this chapter depicts a clear picture of the situation of the
children of God where they are not leading a blessed life. When we read the previous chapter of Isaiah 53, we can understand the sufferings of Christ. The cross of
Jesus in chapter 53 brings in the blessing to his children in the next chapter that is Isaiah 54. The Lord blesses his children who are unworthy of the blessings and
promises in their lives. The cross which was once signified as a sign of shame later became a sign of victory. The cross of Jesus has brought many blessings in the
next chapter. In Isaiah 54:13 'And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.' The Lord grants them the blessing
of children and gives them peace. Lets us meditate on the blessings that God has kept in store for us.
Increase
Isaiah 54:3 'For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left.'
The first blessing that the Lord has reserved for his children is increase. Our life would have been in a situation where we lack blessings. Today, the Lord of Calvary
is bringing a blessing of increase. There could be a situation where we are stuck and there is no state of growth. We might have no chances of getting exalted or lifted
up. This verse talks about two forms of increase that is towards the right and left. When we read Genesis 13:14,17 'And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was
separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: Arise, walk through the
land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.' The blessing of Abraham is an increase in all directions. The boundaries of the children
of God will expand and there will be no barriers. Whatever that is hindering our increase and growth, the hands of the Lord will remove all the hindrances. Some of us
might say there is no growth in certain parts of their lives, the Lord is commanding an increase. Not only in one direction but in all directions.
Inheritance [Restore-Reclaim]
Isaiah 54:3 '..and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles..'
This verse records the blessing of inheritance. The blessing of inheritance is a blessing we inherit something which we have not seen. This blessings of inheritance
applies to our descendants. The Lord will first grant descendants to those who do not have the blessings of generations. Later those descendants will receive the blessing
of inheritance. The Lord God will enable those who have lost the blessings that they inherited to once again re-inherit them. Inheritance is inheriting new blessings
along with our existing blessings. Not only that the Lord will also command a restoration on our inheritances. The Lord will enable his children to inherit new things
in their lives. We will be re-claiming the new inheritances never owned before. At times, due to our own negligences we might have lost certain inheritances. Today,
the Lord God ensures that we receive all the due inheritances in our lives.
Inhabitation
Isaiah 54:3 '..and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.'
Here we see the blessing of inhabitation. Our Lord will enable his children to inhabit in their lives. As recorded in this verse, the desolate cities will be inhabited.
The Lord will change the place that of unworthy of inhabitation will be inhabited. The devastated places willbe transformed in such a way that it is inhabited. What was
ruined to an unimaginable state, the Lord will restore them into a beauty. Our families , our job or certain things in our lives might have been ruined and tangled
completely. The Lord says, he will reform all such things in our lives. All our closed businesses will be re-opened by the power of the Lord. The Lord is shining a
bright light in our dark lives. We will receive the blessing of inhabitation and will be filled with gladness and peace.
