PROMISE OF THE MONTH September - 2022

Promise - September 2022

Perfect Peace

Isaiah 26:3 'Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.'

The Lord will make this month of perfect peace. He promises that he will command his perfect peace in all the aspects of our life. By looking at the situations, we might feel a little apprehensive about having a perfect peace. The Lord says that he will halt all the problems and oppressions that are prevailing in our lives. Bible scholars refer Isaiah chapter 26 as a song of joy of praise. When we sing praises to the Lord celebrating his goodness we will experience a perfect peace. Here in this chapter, people are celebrating what has promised to do in their lives. Many people will celebrate the fulfillment of promises but we also need to celebrate on the promises. In this chapter, the Lord not only promises victory to his children but also promises a perfect peace. We the children of the Lord will enjoy the victories from the Lord along with the perfect peace. In Hebrew, the words 'perfect peace' is interpreted as 'Shalom Shalom'. This signifies a double-fold blessing/peace. The perfect peace means a peace we have with us, a peace we have with others, a peace we have with the Lord. As a part of today's meditation let us see as to how we can obtain the perfect peace from the Lord.

Mind on God

Isaiah 26:3 'Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.'

Firstly, in order to obtain the perfect peace our thoughts should be inclined to the Lord. When we have our minds on the Lord God that is the begining of perfect peace. Our mind plays a key role on how we are getting things done in our lives. In the field of medicine, it is always a challenge to diagnose the issues related to the mind of a person. In Matthew 22:37 'Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.' we can read that we need to love the Lord will all our minds. The main purpose of loving the Lord begins with our mind. If we cannot love the Lord God with all our hearts, we cannot love others. As a matter of fact, we will not be able to love ourselves without having the experience of loving the Lord. In Romans 12:2 '..but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.' We can read the transformation is possible only when our'minds' are renewed. Further we read in Colossians 3:2 'Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.' We need to give our priorities to the Lord God. The Lord had called everyone of us not to set our minds on earth but on the things pertains to the Lord God.

Isaiah 26:3 '...whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.' As per the verse, our minds should cling upon the Lord God to obtain the perfect peace. Just like how we inhabit a place, our minds should be inhabited in the Lord God. Only when our minds are settled upon the Lord God, then there is a perfect peace. Even in our lives, our minds will be travelling to the issues we face on a daily basis. Many people's minds are inhabited on pride and other worldly things. Today, when we make it a point to set our minds on the Lord God , we shall receive a perfect peace. The Lord will give us strength to cling onto the Lord God amidst of distractions.

Isaiah 26:3 'Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.'

Secondly, when we put our trust on the Lord we shall receive a perfect peace. When our minds are set in the Lord, our present lives becomes secure also when our trust is in the Lord, our future becomes secure. When we set our minds in the Lord God, it will enable us to trust on the Lord. In Proverbs 3:5 'Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.' the verse states that we need to trust in the Lord without leaning upon our own wisdom. We the children of the Lord should only lean upon the Lord and not upon our skills and wisdom. Our experiences will not deliver us but the truth which will set us free. Also, when we make it a point to trust upon the Lord, we can build a inter- personal relationship without any fear or doubts. If we need to trust upon the Lord, we need to stay humble. If we do not encourage and motivate others, we do not have the spirit of the Lord. We need to cultivate all these habits in order to trust the Lord whole-heartedly.

We read in Isaiah 26:4 'Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:' There is no expiry in trusting the Lord. We need to trust upon the Lord forever. When we are seeking to follow peace and we do not have strength, we will live in constant fear. Today, the Lord says 'you need to keep seeking peace, and i will give you my everlasting strength'. Our Lord will lead us by providing his everlasting strength in our lives.
