Result of Prayer
Result Of Prayer
Introduction
Psalm 65:2 “O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.”
Dear beloved in Christ, this verse gives an identity to God. It calls our Lord God as a Prayer hearer. We see our God is a God who keenly listens to our prayers and also answers them. Whenever we finish our prayer, we should not get up empty-minded but instead we should get up by having a strong faith that God had answered our prayer request. Every prayer has its results and never will our prayer go in vain. Our God not only listens our prayer but also answers them. God knows all our wants and desires even before we could pray for it. Today, we are going to meditate upon all the important results that God is going to give us when we keep our prayer requests and supplications in his presence.
I. Royal Experience
Esther 4:16 “Go,gather together all the Jews that bare present in Shushan, nad fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.”
Under this head, we see about Esther’s relentless fast. Here Esther takes a daunting task of fasting for her people and kingdom. The last part of the verse Esther says ‘…If I perish, I perish’, her statement shows the extent of Esther’s risk-taking ability. Esther goes through a full-fledged process of fasting and ceaseless prayer for three days. What is the result of Esther’s prayer? The royal signet comes from the king to Esther. Such is the power of her prayer. We see both Esther and Mordecai were elevated to a Royal experience. God transfers the rights and authorities which belongs to the king into Esther’s hands as a result of her prayer. Today, God is giving you a signet which signifies a royal power and authority, as a result of our prayer requests. Therefore, when we pray earnestly, Our God takes us into all sort of Royal experiences in our lives.
II. Broadness
Psalm 118:5 “I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a larger place.”
Our Lord gives us a blessing of broadness when we pray during the time of distress. We need to understand that our God is the one who listens to our cry and answers us instantly. The above verse begins with a prayer request and ends with an answer to it. Thus will be the fast action of our Lord when we pray towards him. In the last part of the verse we see, the Lord sets his people in a larger place. The larger place refers to a place of broadness. Many of us might lack in the blessing of broadness as we may be thronged in many forms. For example, the place of our living might be narrow and oppressed, but that situation no more exists as God commands a blessing of broadness in our life. We will witness a broadness in our house, job, society and so on. It is not the will of God to keep us in a thronged way. God is going to set us in a broad place. We might say ‘Lord! It is enough for me to have a normal house with limited space.’ Do not restrict God by making these wrong prayer confessions. Let your prayers be highly elevated. Today, God gives us a broad home to live happily by giving an answer to all our prayers, all we need to do is to pray truthfully.
III. Great Peace
I Samuel 1:17,18 “Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him. And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.”
Here Eli asks Hannah to go in peace and tells her that the God of Israel will grant her what she asked the Lord God. Hannah was fully worried as she is barren, yet she came to God’s presence and prayed to God. But we need to note that even before God could grant her request, she went her way and ate something. This is possible because Hannah had a firm faith that God had granted her prayer request. This immense faith of Hannah gave her a serene peace and her face was no longer downcast. In the verse 27 we read ‘For this Child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him.’ God gives a result to Hannah’s faithful prayer and blesses her with a Child. Even we pray for many things but we refuse to have food after fasting as we do not have a hope that God will answer us. We need to believe on God’s power and we ought to trust that he will answer us, only then God will answer us and gives us a divine peace. Are we lacking peace in life? Lack of peace in Family? Job? Do not worry, Pray for God’s grace to restore all peace and happiness. Our Lord God has heard all our voices, he will surely answer us by giving us a Great peace and he will change our sad face into a joyous face.
IV. God’s Favour
Acts 27:23,24 “For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee,”
Here, Paul had a vision where God sends an angel to comfort and strengthen him. Despite being troubled in the midst of the sea, he did not show it on his shipmates. Paul was able to strengthen the people on the ship as he receives favour from the eyes of God. Paul urges the people to take some food to survive in case of any shipwreck. In the end of the verse 34 we see Paul says, Not one of them will lose a single hair from their heads. This is the blessing of God’s favour to his people. Even in our lives, we may face many fiascos on our works, but Today God wants you to give it a try again as he showers his favour upon us. God says, ‘My favour will always be on your head.’ Have faith on all the prayers that we make and we will never go unanswered for our prayer requests.May God give us his favour and increases it throughout our life.
V. God’s Blessing
I Kings 8:54,55 “And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the Lord, he arose from before the altar of the Lord, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven. And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,”
We see the King Solomon makes a prayer and when he had finished all his prayers and supplications, he blesses the whole assembly of Israel. We can notice here that God blesses all his people soon after Solomon’s prayer. After this incident, God blesses the Life of Solomon as a result of his prayer. Today we need to pray in Solomon’s way to get all the special blessings from our Heavenly father. God will surely command a goodness and blessings when we finish our prayer in God’s presence. Therefore from now on, Let us make it a point to pray earnestly in his presence to receive God’s blessings in our lives. Amen! God Bless You!
