God's Favour-2
God’s Favour-2
Introduction:
Exodus 11:3 “And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharoah’s servants, and in the sight of the people.”
Dear beloved in Christ, the above verse is the promise verse of the month of September which gives us the blessing of God’s favour on us. We see God’s hands were with Moses and his people and it filled them with the favour of God. What happens as a result of favour on Moses? In the later part of the verse we see Moses was considered great among the people. In other words, he was highly regarded in Egypt by Pharaoh’s officials and by the people. This is the impact of God’s favour on his servant Moses. Even in our daily walks of life, we require Favour from our superiors to carry out a work. Though that favour is necessary, we should never forget that God’s favour is predominant from all the other favours. Therefore, when we have the experience of being showered by God’s favour, everything will be a blessing. In the Bible, we can notice many incidents where God’s favour is unleashed. Today, we are going to meditate upon all the blessings that God’s favour is going to give us in our lives.
I. Resource
Exodus 3:22 “Every woman is to ask her neighbour and any woman living in her house for articles of silver and gold and for clothing, which you will put on your sons and daughters. And so you will plunder the Egyptians.”
The above mentioned verse tells how the people of Israelites were blessed by God’s favour. We see the people of Israel were slaves in the Land of Egypt and they were treated more or less like a refugees in the sight of people of Egypt. But its God’s favour which made them depart from the place at the right time and God did not leave them empty-handed. The Israelites plundered the blessings of the Egyptians. Our God has created everything to benefit us as a blessing in this world, so that we can inherit it. God says, He is going to make us plunder the blessings of worldly people. In Exodus 12:36 ‘The Lord had made the Egyptians favourably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians.’ As the Lord God was with the people of Israel and led them by giving them what they desired, same way God’s favour is going to be with us and it is going to help us to acquire a blessing of Resource. This blessing gives us all the things that we are desiring and expecting in life without any ado and delay. Therefore, we need to ask God to shower his favour which gives us the blessing of resource in our lives.
II. Render
Ezra 7:6,9 “This Ezra came up from Babylon. He was a teacher well-versed in the Law of Moses, which the Lord, the God of Israel, had given. The king had granted him everything he asked, for the hand of the Lord his God was on him. He had begun his journey from Babylon on the first day of the first month, and he arrived Jerusalem on the first day of the fifth month.”
We see about a God’s servant Ezra, and the verses signify the journey of Ezra from Babylon to Jerusalem. Ezra was a person who was skilled scribe in the Law of Moses, this spiritual quality made him to get God’s favour and it fetched the way for the King to grant all his requests. Due to his sheer commitment to God’s words, his journey was blessed and he reaches Jerusalem safely. Even in our lives, as Christians we got to be well-versed in the word of God. When people test our ability in Bible, we should not look into the scripture to give solutions. All the important verses should be printed in our hearts which will make us to get closer to God. We see, it is because of Ezra’s skill in the word of God, that made him to get the blessing of render. As Ezra was given all that he asked for or in other words all his requests were answered. As we live in this world, we require many things in life which would make our living happier and blessed. But to get a blessing which fills all our requests, we ought to give more weightage to the word of God. If we train ourselves in the scripture, Satan will flee away from us and God’s favour will enable us to get the blessing of render which gives us all what we could ask for. Therefore, we need to seek for God’s favour will commands this blessing.
III. Restore
Ezra 9:9 “Though we are slaves, Our God has not deserted us in our bondage. He has shown us kindness in the sight of the kings of Persia: He granted us new life to rebuild the house of our God and repair its ruins, and he has given us a wall of protection in Judah and Jerusalem.”
Here we see how God restores the lives of his Children who lost their lives. Our God does not want us to stay in an abandoned place, he wants to rebuild certain things in lives. There are many parts of our lives which were destroyed by the evil works of Satan, which we found hard to repair. Today, our Lord says, ‘I am here with you to restore things in your life’ We might think it is impossible to renew our lost happiness and spiritual life, but God’s favour had descended down for us and it had started the restoration works. God’s favour is working in such a way that it rebuilds all the abandoned places in your life. God’s favour is restoring your financial position into prosperity, God’s favour is renewing our spiritual life as it were earlier. Our God is a God who is able to change things for us, hence we will witness a drastic change in our lives for sure. We need to beseech in the presence of God to give us his favour which enables us to get the blessing of restoration.
IV. Riches
Nehemiah 9:25 “They captured fortified cities and fertile land; they took possession of houses filled with all kinds of good things, wells already dug, vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees in abundance. They ate to full and were well-nourished; they reveled in your great goodness.”
As we dealt earlier, on how the gracious hand of God was with the people of Israel which led them all their way in a blessed manner. Over here we see when God makes them to reach in a good position after a long tiring journey, but finally they fail to be in his presence. When the Israelites get all the blessings from God’s hands, they depart from his guidance. We see they disobeyed God and rebelled against his name. This is what we should not supposed to do when God blesses us with riches. Many people will fail to think about God when their prayers are answered, they will head to church only if they are in danger or when they require something from the hands of God. Whenever we are blessed with riches and honour, we should be haughty. We should think, Whether are we worthy to get his favour and blessing of riches. We must never fail to thank God for his love. We should not think that it is because of our knowledge and skill that we received this blessing and honour. The more we are blessed with riches, the more we should be humble and try to get closer to God. Therefore, we need to pray to God to bless us as he blessed the people of Israel by giving his divine favour. Amen! God Bless You!
