God's favour on Moses

 God’s Favour on Moses

Introduction:
Exodus 11:3 “And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharoah’s servants, and in the sight of the people.”
Today we are going to meditate on how the favour of God was with Moses which made him to reach heights in his life. We see God's favour was with Moses from his early stage and till the end bby guiding and leading him all his every moves. We are also going to discuss the different blessings that God's favour gave to Moses.
I. Produce
Exodus 2:1-3 "Now the man of the house of Levi married a Levite woman, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile."
Here the above verse signifies the birth of Moses. We can also notice that there was a high-profile plan that was devised on Moses by the way that the things happened at the time of his birth. Do any of us know, when does God's favour will be upon us? It is not only after our birth but also at the very moment when we are formed inside our mother's womb. God has all his plans on us since then. These are the days where people tend to kill their own baby by aborting them. The baby inside the womb is no more at a secured state. But having this thought in mind, it will surely make us grateful to our Lord God on how amazingly God has been protecting us from that time.
On reading the verse we can notice that Moses was hid three months, and he was sent in a papyrus basket which is coated with tar and pitch. See, the unique plan of God and his different specifications concerning the basket. Exodus 2:10 'When the child grew older, she took him to pharaoh's daughter and he became her son...' In this verse we see the plan of God was beautifully executed as the baby reaches the Pharaoh's daughter at the right time. Had not God allowed the cruel rule that time, which made the mother to send Moses away along the river, Moses would not have lived the royal life. As the Lord God was with Moses, so will he be with you to make a spiritual produce in your life and lead you to great heights.
II. Protection
Exodus 2:14-15 "The man said, Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian? Then Moses was afraid and thought, What I did must have become known. When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by a well."
Over here, Moses kills an Egyptian and he was accused by his actions. We also see, Pharaoh was looking to kill Moses for what he had did. We must understand that Pharaoh is such a big king, and it will not take much time to find Moses and to kill him. Pharaoh must have had a massive army to figure out the wherabouts of Moses and to slay him. In other words, the entire kingdom was against Moses. But God did not allow Moses into the hands of  Pharaoh. Our God gives Moses a chance and makes him to go to Midian.
In verse 14, we see Moses was afraid about whats happening to him. But on verse 15, we see God foresaw all that might happen and prepares a place for him in Midian. This is the divine protection that God's favour gave to Moses. This is the protection that God is going to give all of us which is going to strengthen us at the time of fright and danger. What are the things we are afraid of? Job? Family? Future? Let us all push all these apprehensions aside and seek for God's protection which will make us prevail all sorts of dangers in life.
III. Plan
Exodus 3:2 "There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in the flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up."
Earlier we saw, Moses was chosen from his birth and also he was protected from the eyes of Pharaoh. At this point of time, Moses might have thought that his life was safe and its all over with a fruitful end. But God had some other plans too which Moses failed to guess. God started to execute his plan to Moses as an angel appears to him from a burning bush. Exodus 3:10 'So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.' This verse signifies the divine call of God to Moses which he was in awe of. Today, we need to believe that God has kept many plans and purposes which are yet to be fulfilled. All we need to is, we need to submit ourselves to the will of the Lord to perfect all his plans and purposes concerning us. We might have might not understand the paths that God is making us to walk, but we need to believe that its according to his plans concerning us. We need to completely surrender ourselves to God's plan and we should also give us totally to the will of God.
IV. Passion
Numbers 12:1-2 "Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite. Has the Lord spoken only through Moses?, they asked. Hasn't he also spoken through us? And the Lord heard this."
Everything that Moses goes through was perfectly as per the plan of God. But here in this verse, we see the siblings of Moses were against him. Moses did not retaliate Miriam and Aaron for what they spoke, but God himself did confront them. Exodus 12: 8-9 'With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? The anger of the Lord burned against them, and he left them.' In these verses we can notice the result of Moses's silence towards Miriam and Aaron. God became so zealous concerning Moses and his anger waxed hot towards them. Today, its a lesson to each one of us that never in our lives, we should afford to make a mistake of what Miriam and Aaron did. We should never talk evil about anyone and we got to be even more cautious when it comes to the servants of God. Many people had lost their blessings because of evil speaking and back-biting.
If we are finding it difficult to put up with people, we should not supposed to talk behind their backs. But instead, we need to hold our peace and pray for them. The more we remain silent, more will be the level of passion that God is going to show on us. As our God was passionate and zealous about Moses, so will he be to us. Therefore, let us all ask for God's favour which gives us this blessing when we remain patient and silent.
V. Position
Exodus 33:16 "How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?"
We know that God had been leading and guiding Moses from the begining and God did not forsake him at any point of time. God makes him a unique one more than all the people on earth. Today, God is commanding a blessing of position in our lives. God has not called us to be in a normal position, but instead he wants us to have a lofty postion more than anyone else could even dream of. Deuteronomy 34:7 'Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone.' On reading this verse we can clearly understand how Moses was given a blissful position even at his old age. Today, God will never make us to suffer from deficiencies and infirmities due to ageing. Deuteronomy 34:11-12 also reveals the good position that God has given to Moses. Same way, God fills us with his blessings and changes us into a special gifted person with a blessing of position. Therefore, Let us all submit ourselves into the hands of God to inherit the blessings of God's favour concerning us. Amen! God bless you!
