God's Work

Introduction

Ephesians 3:20,21 ''Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.''

The above Promise for the month of October signifies the greatness of God's work in our lives. We see God does a work which is exceeding and abundant more than what we could think or ask for. It is true that God listens to our prayers and commands whatever we ask him. But at the same time he gives us things which is much better and best more than the ones that we ask him. It is highly important that our lives should have the factor of God's work to be blessed in an abundant manner. Whatever achievements that we make, we should render all the due glory to the name of God. Today we are going to see how the work of God will be found in our lives and how it will impact in our lives.

I. Work of Creation

Genesis 2:2 "And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made."

Here the work of our God begins in the very begining of the chapter of Genesis. Over here we see God creates each and every thing on the earth and finally rests on the seventh day. It is interesting to note that even before God could create Adam and Eve he starts the work of creation for them. Our God knew all the needs of them and he creates everything in advance. See, how wise our Creator is! We humans will be Re-active in our approach at times of danger, as we try to figure out the solutions for the problem after getting into it. But Our God is a creator God who is Pro-active in his approach as he foresees all our needs and prepares them ready in advance. Even in our lives, God's work will work in such a way that all our needs and requirements are created in advance. Our God is a God who is a creator and he perfects everything which concerns to us. We might think, that this is what all i have and nothing more will happen. We need to beleive that Our creator had already done with all the things which we require in life and we ought to inherit the blessings which he kept for us. All we need to do is to ask God to show his work of creation in our life and inherit the blessing of his work.

II. Work of Greatness

Exodus 14:31 "And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses."

This verse signifies the work of God to the people of Israel. The work of God here is something which is massive and out of the world. Just imagine the plight of the people of Israel when they were being chased by the hosts of Pharaoh and they have a massive Red sea which is before them. They could not move forward or backward. They are more or less trapped. Over here, the work of God gets unleashed for his children as God parts the huge Red sea and paves way for the people of Israel. This the work of Greatness. All these while the people of Israel would not have seen the work of God in a clear way but in time of their distress they witness God's work of Greatness in a mighty way. Same way, we might be in a position where we find it hard to take a next step, we might also feel trapped and desperate. But leaving all that aside, we need to believe that the God of Israel is there with us to reveal his work of Greatness and deliver us from traps and troubles.

III. Work of Matchlessness

Deuteronomy 3:24 "O Lord God, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?."

Under this sub-head we see the incomparable work of God. We see all the works of God are intense and matchless. We can never ever compare the work of God to anyone else on earth. All the positions and honours that we achieve in life, does not reflect our skill or capability. It is purely based on the work of God in our lives. Today, God's matchless work is going to get manifested in our lives. Our God is working many matchless things to each and everyone of us. We are going to get all the heavenly matchless blessings which is not even seen by the worldy people. All we need to is to beseech for God's work of matchlessness in our lives.

IV. Work of Amazement

Nehemiah 6:15,16 "So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month of E'-lul, in fifty and two days. And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God."

In this point we see about the apprehensions of the people during the construction of the wall. They might have thought the construction would take a long time to complete. But all their assumptions went wrong as God completes the construction in a very short span of time. This made all their assumptions to fail miserably. All the people(enemies, heathen) who were around were amazed by the work of God. The work of amazement puts everyone into a shock and their apprehensions were utterly broken. Even in our lives, there are people who are sarcastic and pessimistic towards us. They might think that we will never be able to complete the work which we started. For example, Our construction of our house, Our job projects and so on. People may think that we will leave things in mid-way and give up. But today God promises that his work of amazement will put everyone into confusion. God says, he will work with you in an amazing way and he will make all your neighbours and people who live in the society to stand as a testimony witnessing his work in your life. All the works you had started and all the works which is half-done is going to be completed says the Lord. Therefore, Let us pray that God should give us this blessing of his work.

V. Work of Authority

Psalms 8:3,4,6,8 "When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained: What is a man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all the things under his feet: The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas."

Over here we see the magnificent works of God. Our God has just created all these beautiful things by his fingers not even his hands. And it is our privilege that God after creating all his creations, he totally hands over the entire authority to us. This is the work of authority. For example, take the case of an Air-conditioner, there are many persons behind the making of the entire Air-conditioner but when we buy it, the power of control and the authority belongs to us. We get to exercise our authority over it and not even the maker of the Air-conditioner gets to control as we do. Same way, God has given us the authority over all the things on earth. Even when Satan comes to deceive us, we have the authority to command him. The Satan will fear and flee from us when we execute our authority in times of danger. Therefore, we need to realize the we have an authority to control and manage things in our lives in a better way. May the Lord God give us grace to exercise the authority which is given to us. May God fulfill all the above dealt works of God in our lives in an abundant manner. Amen! God bless you!
