God's Work II

Introduction

Ephesians 3:20,21 ''Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.''

The above Promise for the month of October signifies the greatness of God's work in our lives. We see God does a work which is exceeding and abundant more than what we could think or ask for. It is true that God listens to our prayers and commands what we ask him. But at the same time he gives us things which is much better and best than the ones that we ask him. It is highly important our lives should have the factor of God's work to be blessed in an abundant manner. Whatever achievements that we make, we should render all the due glory to the name of God. Today we are going to see how the work of God will be found in our lives and how it will impact in our lives.

I. Wondrous work

Psalm 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork."

Psalm 102:25 "Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands."

Psalm 75:1 "Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare."

The above verses clearly signifies the amazing creation of God. When we gaze at all the creations of God we tend to get awe of thinking over his work. The Lord that we are worshipping is such a huge God and we need to understand that it is easy for him to show his wondrous work. Today, God is going to show his wondrous work which will put all the people into a state of shock. People around us will never able to comprehend what's happening in our lives and how God's is working in our lives. The same hand which created the heaven and earth is going to work a wondrous thing in our lives. We need to believe that God will perform a wondrous work which will bless us abundantly and lead us to witnesss his wondrous work.

II. Old work

Psalm 44:1 "We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of Old."

Psalm 44:25 "Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies' sake."

In the first part of the verse we see, that the people have just heard what God has did to their fathers. They might have heard about the works of God like a story. Like how our kids used to listen to our stories of our times. They might not have seen the works of God very closely but they actually want to witness it. Same way, even in our lives we might think or we might want God to perform certain things which he did earlier. We seriously want God to do something like what he did to us in our early start. Today, Our Lord God is here with us to do things as in the times of Old. But God's work does not stop with it, he is not only going to do his Old work but also more than what we want him to. More than what happened in the past, God will work even more ahead of what we think. Therefore, as we ask him to show us his Old works, he is going to arise and start working his Old works to bless us in a special way.

III. Terrible work

Psalm 64: 9,10 "And all men shall fear, and all shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing. The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and shall trust him; and all the upright in heart shall glory."

Jeremiah 20:11 "But the Lord is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten."

We can clearly see the distinction between the righteous person and a normal person. A righteous man will always be happy more than others in the world. This is because the Lord is with us as a terrible God who will work his terrible work to put oue enemies into shame and confusion. When we have the terrible work of God in our lives, we will be glad and blessed. In Deuteronomy 1:19 'And when we departed from Ho'-reb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which ye saw by the way of the mountains of the Am'-o-rites, as the Lord our God commanded us, and we came to Ka'-desh-bar'-ne-a.' Here we can notice how the work of the Lord was in a terrible manner which guided them in their way. Our God is termed as lovable and compassionate and so many tags that could define him. Yes, Our God is a lovable God but he cannot be showing his love all the time. If he has to work out a terrible thing in our lives, he need to a terrible God not a normal God. Today, Our God has decended as a terrible God who is going to lead us and guide us in our paths. In Psalm 66:3 '..., How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.' The above stated verse clearly depicts the terrible work of God in our lives and also it shows how our enemies are going to be confounded. Therefore, we need to assk God to give his grace which will enable us to manifest his Terrible work in our lives.

IV. Glad work

Psalm 92:4 "For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work: I will truimph in the work of thy hands."

This verse terms the work of God as something which is going to put us into the state of Gladness. It might be a long time since we had a good smile on our faces. Today the Almighty God is going to start working out his works on gladness.Our God is going to reveal and execute many works in our lives which will make us happy forever.We will witness God's glad work in our family very soon. We will hear a glad news as a result of God's work. All that we need to do is to beseech for God's mercy and grace to acquire this blessing. May God start working out his Glad work in our lives.

V. Satisfactory work

Psalm 104:13 "He waterth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works."

The above verse terms God's work as the work of satisfaction. There are people on earth who will never get satisfied with certain things in life. Be it blessings, money or even food. The level of satisfaction is exceedingly high and demanding. Today, God says he is going to bless us continuously unless and untill we get satisfied. We might lack certain things in life or we may have something in life which are unsatisfactory. Believe that the God whom we are worshipping is a huge God who can do exceeding abundant things for us. We will never ever be pushed into a factor of lacking in life. Today, God is here with us to satisfy all our wants and needs with his work of satisfaction. Therefore, we need to have strong faith on our living God and expect all his works to get established in our lives. May the Lord bless us with all the above said works and bless us in an abundant manner. Amen! God Bless You!
