Divine Abundance
Introduction
Job 42:10 "And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before."
We learn that the life of Job was blessed abundantly in the later part. Though Job was wealthy in the beginning, the blessings that he obtains in the end was in abundance. Even though Job was given into a cruel temptation, his blessings was in a double fold manner. Today, we the children of God who live in this futile life are given into circumstances. But if we earnestly hope to be blessed in the way how Job was blessed, we need to do something in our lives.
The Patience-In James 5:11 ‘Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.’ we see Job was meek. One of the important reason which moved our Lord almighty to turn away the captivity of Job is his patience. In spite of going through all sorts of deadly sufferings, Job did not lose his temper. Job did not take random decisions but instead he waited for the Lord to put an end to all that was thronging him. This is the secret of Job’s blessing of divine abundance. Even in our lives, if we make it a point to be patient like Job, things will favor us and we will be blessed abundantly.
I Divine abundance to Israelites in wilderness
Deuteronomy 2:7 "For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing."
The people of Israelites had no other option in the wilderness. The people of Israel have no idea on how or where to run away. But our Lord God took care of his children. Our Lord almighty led the people of Israel in the life of wilderness. Even in our lives, when we have no place to run away or if we are surrounded by many problems, our Lord God will lead us. The Lord will come to our rescue. All our debt problems will come to an end. We will find a better bright way to come out of such problems.
We read in Deuteronomy 8:15-16 ‘Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there wasno water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;’ we need to know that the path we are walking is a path of wilderness. We may not know how we are going to move forward. In Deuteronomy 1:46 ‘So ye abode in Kadesh many days, according unto the days that ye abode there.’ as our Lord God led the people of Israel without any lack so will his children be led. Our Lord God is going to bless us with the divine abundance and lead us in the life of wilderness.
II Divine abundance to Elijah
I Kings 17:3 "Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan."
I Kings 17:6 "And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook."/p>
Here we see our Lord sends Elijah to the wilderness. Elijah obeyed the commandment of God and he understood the purpose behind it. He did not ask any questions to God regarding his food and his place of stay. Elijah knew that the Lord who is sending him will be faithful enough to guide him and bless with in abundance. In I Kings 17:6 ‘And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.’ We see, there are instances where Elijah was fed by a crow. We may not understand how all this works but we need to be patient. Our Lord did not forsake his servant as he guarded him and blessed him abundantly. Our Lord will bless his children with abundance and will lead them. Also we read in Luke 4:26 ‘But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.’ Whenever Elijah was sent a place, there was something prepared in advance for him. Had God kept Elijah in the same place, he would not have witnessed the works of the mighty God.
In I Kings 19:5 ‘And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.’ when we read this verse we can understand how the hands of the Lord God dealt miraculously with Elijah. This is how Elijah was led by the hands of the almighty by giving him a divine abundance. In I Kings 19:8 ‘And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.’ this verse tells us how the hands of God strengthened Elijah in a super natural way and led him. Same way we the children of God will be blessed in abundance and also be strengthened to face all odds in our lives.
III Divine abundance to the army & animals
II Kings 3:8-9 "And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he answered, The way through the wilderness of Edom. So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom: and they fetched a compass of seven days' journey: and there was no water for the host, and for the cattle that followed them.” II Kings 3:20 “And it came to pass in the morning, when the meat offering was offered, that, behold, there came water by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water."
We see the land was stricken by water scarcity and it was a troublesome situation. But our Lord God blesses the land with water. Our Lord almighty leads the army and the animals in that land. In II Kings 3:16-17 ‘And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Make this valley full of ditches. For thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.’ we see the people started making ditches even before the waters could come over. This is the faith that the people had on our Lord God. When we truly put our trusts on God, he will never forsake us. We see all the empty spaces was filled with water. Our Lord blessed the people in abundance. As rightly recorded in II Kings 3:20 ‘And it came to pass in the morning, when the meat offering was offered, that, behold, there came water by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water.’ our blessings will take place quickly as it happened in the very next day morning. We the children of God should also pray fervently and be ready to obtain the abundant blessings that is coming on our way.
IV Divine abundance to the people
Matthew 14:14 "And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick."
Matthew 14:20 "And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full."
Over here we see, the healing power of our Lord God was with the people in the wilderness. There was a healing and also there was a fulfillment that takes place in the wilderness. We see that when our Lord was compassionate on the people, miracles started to take place. In Luke 18:27 ‘And he said, the things which are impossible with men are possible with God.’ this should our faith. We have the Lord who is ready to work out any miracle for our sake. In Philippians 4:19 ‘But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.’ truly speaking our Lord God is going to fill all the emptiness in our lives with his divine grace. Therefore, let us all pray earnestly that we should be blessed and led by the divine abundance of our Lord God. Amen.
