Glory of the Lord

Introduction

John 11:40 "Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?"

The above passage talks about the miracle performed by our Lord Jesus Christ to his friend Lazarus. Our Lord Jesus reveals his glory. In order to reveal his divine glory, he performs his miracle. Even in our lives we should pray to witness his divine glory so that it is made manifest in our lives. When Lazarus was raised from the dead, it revealed the divine nature of Jesus Christ. When we also read in Acts 2:43&47 we can notice there are many miracles that took place when people are gathered together on his name. Today as a part of meditation, we are going to mediate on the important miracles that is performed by our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

I Miracle in Emergency

John 2:1-2 "And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage."

Over here we see Jesus and his family were invited for a wedding in Cana. This instance marks the first and foremost miracle that was performed by our Lord Jesus. When we read the passage, we see the marriage happens on the third day. The reason why ‘Third day’ was emphasized beacuse it was considered to be a blessed day. This we can read in Genesis 1:10,12,13 ‘And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day.’ We see our Lord created all these things on the third day and he considered it good. Our Lord finds the third day pleasant and blessed. But normally the third day of any week is considered inauspicious in this world. And that is how Satan has polluted the minds of people on earth. But we the children of God should never have such thoughts and we should continue to keep weddings on the third day.

In John 2:3 ‘And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.’ We see here, there was a shortage of wine at the wedding. Those were the days where serving wines at wedding were considered very important. And it would be of a great shame if there is shortage of wine. The mother of Jesus knew the crisis and she sought the help of Jesus. This act of hers reveals her human nature. And also the fact that mother Mary knew that only Jesus can able to perform a miracle at this time of emergency. Even in our lives, we are tangled in many emergencies where we are hopeless. As we read in the above passages, mother Mary knew who she should approach at the time of emergency so will we the children of God should reach out to our Lord Jesus. As recorded in Acts 2:43 ‘And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.’ We the children of God will witness many miracles and wonders at the time of any emergency.

II Timely miracle

John 2:4-5 "Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it."

Here in this passage we see Jesus answers to his mother. We see Jesus insists that his hour has not come to perform any miracle. By saying this, Jesus wants to prove that he is not under any command or authority to perform any such thing in this world. As our Lord Jesus is completely driven by the will of the Lord God above, he restrains himself from others orders. As a matter of fact, even his mother’s request was declined as he should wait for the appointed time. Our Lord Jesus knew that everything that is happening in the wedding is according to the divine purpose and he humbly waits for the time that his father above has kept. Even in our lives, we should always understand the theory of time spiritually. Our Lord God neither does miracles in advance nor at the latter part. Our Lord keeps time for everything and he acts accordingly. If Jesus had not waited for the Lord’s time, the history might have gone wrong. But Jesus did not surpass the Lord’s hour and acts on time. This is the timely miracle. In John 2:7-8 'Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.' This is the blessing that our Lord gives us when we wait for his time. In our lives, we might have a recession period or current state might be feeble and we would want a timely miracle. We the children of Lord should put all our problems and sorrows on our Lord alone and wait for his time. Surely, the almighty will perform miracle to his children on time.

Therefore, let us pray to our Lord Jesus that he should bless us with the above dealt miracles and bless us abundantly. Amen.
