Glory of the Lord-X

Introduction

John 11:40 "Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?"

The above passage talks about the miracle performed by our Lord Jesus Christ to his friend Lazarus. Our Lord Jesus reveals his glory. In order to reveal his divine glory, he performs his miracle. Even in our lives we should pray to witness his divine glory so that it is made manifest in our lives. When Lazarus was raised from the dead, it revealed the divine nature of Jesus Christ. Today as a part of mediation let us continue meditating on the glory of the Lord.

Miracle of deliverance

John 11:44 "And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go."

Here we see Lazarus comes out of the tomb as Jesus calls him. When we read the above passage we can understand that Lazarus was tied all over his body. Since he was tied up with grave clothes, it would have been difficult for him to walk. But the power of our Lord Jesus breaks all that was tied on him. Even in our lives, all our knots are going to be untied by the hands of God. When the hands of Lazarus was untied, it refers to a deliverance in order to enable him to serve for the Lord God. When his legs were untied, that signifies that the act enables to do the ministry of God. And when his face was unmasked, it symbolizes that it was done to make his face shine radiantly before the Lord God. It is very important that we the children of God use our hands and legs to serve and worship our Lord Jesus Christ. Our faces should always be bright and shining in the presence of God. We can understand this aspect further when we read Colossians 3:1-17. Let us pray that we should receive this miracle of deliverance and let it deliver us from all that is bounding us.

Miracle of fellowship with Jesus

John 12:1-2 "Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead. There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him."

We see Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead and he was given a new life. Lazarus becomes a new man who was a resurrected Christian. And so Lazarus was one of them among the people who were gathered along with Jesus at the feast. We read in Ephesians 2:6 ‘And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:’ As recorded in this verse, Lazarus had the privilege to share the table with Jesus who raised him from the death. When we look into the life of Mary, her life reflects worship because she is always found at the feet of Jesus Christ. In the other hand if we see the life of Martha that refers to a life of testimony. And when we take Lazarus, he walks along with Jesus. All the three of them had a very strong fellowship and bonding with Christ. This was the major blessing factor in their lives. Even in our lives, when we make a resolution to spend time with Jesus and increase our daily devotion, this fellowship would give us the privilege of being seated with Jesus in high places.

Miracle of witness

John 11:45 "Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him."

John 12:9 "Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead."

Interestingly, the miracle of raising Lazarus from the death pulled a lot of crowd. The miracle spread widely to a major extent which even made many Jews to come in search of him. We read in John 12:17 ‘The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record.’ The people who witnessed the miracle shared testimony on Lazarus. The supernatural miracle not only astonish the whole people but also made them to be a witness later. There could be a lot of people who were saved because of Lazarus’s miracle. Same way, even we the children of God should hold such a testimony like Lazarus. The people who are around should witness our lives and our lives should bring in a change to their lives.

Miracle in persecution

John 12:10-11 "But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death; Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus."

The above passage tells us how these bunch of chief priests planned against Lazarus. Even in our lives, when we live a good life and when our lives are pure before the eyes of God, many people will not like it. They will start to give us troubles in some ways. The situation of Lazarus was so pathetic because the very own Jewish people conspired to kill him. But the divine grace of the Lord was with him and protected him at the time of persecution. In II Timothy 3:11 'Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.' As rightly recorded in the verse, our Lord almighty will deliver us from all sorts of troubles and persecutions that we are facing in our lives. Therefore, let us all pray to God that we should be blessed with all the above dealt miracles and may the glory of the Lord be made manifest in our lives forever. Amen.
