Miracles at the last moment - 6

Introduction

Esther 9:1 “Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them;)

This passage gives us a confirmation that the Lord will change things at the last moment. There might be many ongoing things that are bothering us in our lives, but the hands of the Lord will change them in the last moment. The Lord almighty will change all our apprehensions and failures into an ultimate victory. We might be given under circumstances, but the hands of the Lord will change everything in our favor at the last moment. Today, let us discuss on how the Lord God worked in the life of Esther and made her to inherit all the blessings in the last moment.

Preparation

Esther 2:7 “And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter.

Here we see the Lord God prepares Esther for an ultimate victory. Initially, Esther did not understand the unpleasant things that were happening in her life. She did not seem to understand that all these things happened so that she could come right in the center of God’s will and end up under Mordecai’s care. The Lord almighty works everything in the favor of Esther. We read in Esther 1:19 ‘If it please the king, let there go a royal commandment from him, and let it be written among the laws of the Persians and the Medes, that it be not altered, That Vashti come no more before king Ahasuerus; and let the king give her royal estate unto another that is better than she.’ This passage we see the will of the Lord is getting fulfilled as the position of Vashti is made vacant so that Esther becomes the Queen. The Lord God exalts Esther and gives her the throne.

Esther 4:14 ‘For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?’ After Esther becomes the Queen, she clearly understands her role and what was purposed on her. She used her powers in a right way and fulfills the will of the Lord. She was not intimidated by the sudden change that happened in her life. She stood up for what is right and voices out in favor of the children of God.

Support

Esther 3:5-6 “And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath. And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.

Here we see there was a struggle between Mordecai and Haman. The anger of Haman was kindled against Mordecai to the extent that he decided he destroy the whole Jewish group. But the Lord’s support was with Mordecai. Despite the fact that Haman’s army was huge, the Lord extends his support to Mordecai. The Lord gave Mordecai strength to tackle his enemy. In Psalms 18:18 ‘They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.’ The Lord acted as a pillar of support to Mordecai at the time of distress.

Plan

Esther 5:4 “And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.”

We see Esther had the responsibility to destroy Haman and his plan. Esther knew she had to protect the children of God. In Esther 4:16 ‘Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.’ Before proceeding to settle things with Haman, Esther waited in the presence of the Lord. She used the weapons of prayer and fasting to fulfill the plans of the Lord. In Esther 6:1-2 ‘On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.’ We see when Esther submits everything in prayer, the Lord works out everything in her favor. Everything falls into its place and they find a favor in the eyes of the King.

Promotion

Esther 8:2 “And the king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it unto Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.

The Lord takes away the authority from the wrong hands and hands it over to the children of God. The end of the Lord’s work is the promotion. The very own city of Shushan which was troubled (Esther 3:15 The posts went out, being hastened by the king's commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed.) in the beginning rejoices in the end (Esther 8:15 And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple: and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.) As we read in Esther 9:24-28, Purim celebrated in thanksgiving. This is the Lord’s doing at the last moment. The Lord God changes everything for good in the last moment.
