The Resurrection Power of Jesus

Philippians 3:10 'I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.'

The tomb of Jesus is the only tomb which is empty in this whole word. The throne in the heaven is in fullness is because the tomb is empty. In the above passage, Apostle paul is giving a strong revelation to the church.  The resurrection of Jesus is not just a historical event, it is also a present reality with eternal power. Since Jesus rose from the dead, it proves He defeated sin, Satan, and death. The words of Lord Jesus are true and we serve a living Savior. Resurrection power is the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead on the third day. The power of the Lord is mighty over death, sin, darkness, and every limitations on this earth.  The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to every believer today. The same resurrected power of Jesus is working in our even today as we meditate about him. The power will bring us all the victories that was gained by Christ on the cross. The basis of Christianity is the Resurrection of Jesus.  Without the resurrection, Christianity would just be another religion or philosophy. And the amazing part is that power is available to every believer today.

Let us meditate on how the power of Jesus resurrection works in our daily lives.

1. The Power that Conquers Death

Romans 6:9 – “Knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.”

Jesus defeated the final enemy which is death.  It is because he rose from the dead and he lives, we have the assurance of eternal life. This Power transforms fear into hope. Death no longer rules us. The fear of death should no longer be found in us. When we say we live in Christ, we should never have this kind of a fear. When we live in Christ, the power of resurrection will work in our lives. This Satan will bring all kind of fears concerning death, he will say you are finished and you are done. He will scare us by bringing the fear of future. How should we respond to these kinds of threats from Satan ? We should say 'I am not afraid beacuse the the power of resurrection is there with me'. We need to understand that death has no power over Jesus, it has no ultimate power over us either. Therefore, when we believe in Jesus, we do not have any fear in our lives. The Lord will give us that authority to resist Satan. As Christaisn, we have a faith that  Even if we die today, we will be with Jesus and live forever. The devil and death have no power over us.

A Famous Pastor once said “If we are in the world Jesus will be with us, if we close our eyes we will be with Jesus”. If we are united with Christ, we share in His resurrected life. This gives us confidence, peace, and hope—not just for eternity, but in how we live today. Jesus died once but He will never die again. Death has lost all power over Him. And if we belong to Him, we are no longer under death’s rule either. We read in Psalms 118:17 'I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.' We shall live in the power of His victory!

2. The Power that Breaks Chains

Ephesians 1:19-20 'and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms.'

The power of Resurrection is above all the principalities, powers, might and dominions in this earth. No power can suppress us in this earth. We need to believe there is no bigger power than the power of resurrection which has the control over his children.  Resurrection power delivers from sin, bondage, and addictions. It empowers us to live in freedom and victory. The power of the Lord cuts asunder all the chains and bondages. The power will liberate us from all kinds of bondages. We can boldly say there is nothing which has the authority to suppress us. The power that breaks the chain is there with us and it is working in our lives. The resurrection power of God is not just about raising the dead—it is about breaking every form of bondage: sin, fear, addiction, shame, depression, and anything that holds us captive.

Acts 16:25-26 'About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were istening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.' Before the resurrection of Christ they were singing and praising the Lord in the same way. But after resurrection, they felt the power of resurrection. It broke all the chains. Paul and Silas were astonished to witness the power of resurrection working valiantly.  This is a literal moment where the praise along with the God’s power, breaks the chains.  It is the visual representation of what happens spiritually when we trust in the power of God. Paul wants us to realize that the same power that raised Jesus from the grave is living in us. From this incident, we can clearly understand no chain is too strong and no prison too deep. The power of resurrection is living inside of us today.

3. The Power that Gives New Life

2 Corinthians 5:17 'Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!.'

All the old things are gone. All the past struggles, past health issues are coming to an end. The Power of resurrection gives life to his children. When we are in Christ, we are like a new creation.  Just as Jesus rose into new life, we are raised from spiritual death to spiritual life. This power of resurrection is something that regenerates, restores, and renews. We read in Romans 8:11 'And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.' Every christian should believe this powerful verse. If the spirit of Jesus is living inside of us, it will give life to us. The Power will give a new life. All our old things have come to and end. From this day, we need to confess stating the power of Jesus is going to do is work in my life. Let stop using the word 'Patient' when we are sick. We need to confess saying I am a new creation in Christ.  We are not called to fight in our own strength as we go about our daily lives. The resurrection power is active in us, helping us overcome trials and walk in righteousness. Amen.
